Subject: RE: Who are singing these songs ? From: L R Mole Date: 24 Oct 00 - 11:12 AM Guesses: "a" sounds like like "Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes"; I forget the group."d" is "Please Release Me" by Engelbert Humperdink (now, I think, just Englebert; his real name is Gerry Dorsey). "e" is from the musical HAIR: "When the moon is in the seventh house/ and Jupiter alligns with Mars/Then peace will guide the planets/And love will steer the stars/ This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius, Age of Aquarius....Let the sun shine/Let the sun shine in..." The medley (it's really two songs from the show) was a hit for the Fifth Dimension. |

Subject: Lyr Add: LOVE OF THE COMMON PEOPLE^^ From: Ebbie Date: 26 Oct 00 - 12:35 AM Love Of The Common People Written by Hurley and Wilkins Living on free food tickets Water in the milk from the hole in the roof Where the rain came through What can we do Tears from your little sister Crying 'cause she doesn't have a dress Without a patch for the party to go Oh but you know she'll get by 'Cause she's living in the love of the common people Smiles from the heart of the family man Daddy's gonna buy her a dream to cling to Momma's gonna love her just as much as she can And she can
It's a good thing you don't have bus fare
You can live in the love of the common people
Living on dreams ain't easy Waylon Jennings is the one I remember on this song. Loved his voice, and the rawness of the song's message. Jon, I too saw that Paul Young seemed to be credited with the song. I checked and his lyrics are the same as the above. ?? Ebbie |
