Anyone have the words to 3,000 miles from home by the band After Hours on their album Hung out to dry? They were or are a great Irish band who grew up in London, anyone know if they are sitll about, also?
Cheers,
Larry

Fare thee well, gentle maid. I'll see you on your way,
And the sun would rise tomorrow to wash our sins away.
I know it must have hurt you, but we only had a day,
And I think that's why you left me in your own sad little way.
You're gone-disappeared.
I only end up crying three thousand miles from here.

Some would say that you're a loser 'cause you play a loser's game.
Oh, but if I am the winner, why am I so ashamed?
If you hear a young dove crying, you'll know its me to blame,
'Cause I never got her number; I never knew her name'
And she's gone-disappeared,
And I only end up crying three thousand miles from here.

hope this helps slan

Gorra mile mile maith agut!
I could not get the young dove line, that is it entirely! I heard a tape of them in Devizes, where they have a lot of fans. Really nice band. Any news about them? By the way, are you named after the bowsprit? We used to call them widdowmakers, and if you ever furled a head sail in a heavy sea, you know why (and I have and do!)
Slan go foil, agus gorra maith agut aris,
Lor
