Subject: Lyr Add: JACKIE (from Sinead O'Connor)

I want to do a new arrangement of a song (Jackie) I found on a Sinead O'Connor album. I haven't been able to determine if it is a song she wrote or her own arrangement from a traditional source. The lyrics follow, and BTW it meets many of the criteria for a folk song listed in the FSD thread.

Jackie left on a cold dark night
Telling me he'd be home.
Sailed the seas for a hundred years
Leaving me all alone.

And I've been dead for twenty years
I've been washing the sand with my ghostly tears
Searching the shores for my Jackie-O

I remember the day
When the young men came
They said, "Your Jackie's gone
He got lost in the rain."
And I ran until
It lay me down.

"You're all wrong," I said,
And they stared at the sand.
"That man knows that sea
Like the back of his hand.
He'll be back sometime,
I feel he will.

And I've been waiting all this time
For my man to come
And take his hand in mine
And lead me away to ? one safe shore.

I've been washing the sand with my salty tears
Searching the shore these long years
And I walk the sea forevermore.
Til I find my Jackie-O.

Wasn't sure if this message had gotten lost in the shuffle as it wasn't listed, so I'm trying it again.
