Just a few fragments I'm afraid, from a mostly forgotten session.

A miner's song obviously, but I'm afraid the only bits which stick in my mind are the first line (or possibly the first line of the chorus)

"I've worked underground"

and another part of the refrain which went

"and the black dust lies heavy on my lungs".

Not much I'm sorry :( but does it ring any bells ?

Rgds

Andy

Andy. The song you are looking for is called Workin Man by Canadian artist Rita MacNeil. It is about Cape Breton Miners. She usually sings it with a choir of miners called "Men Of The Deeps" Here is a link to her site. click here
Or go here: Lyr/Chords Add: WORKING MAN (Rita MacNeil)--JoeClone, 19-Oct-2009.
