Subject: Halloween Hearme From: Susan of DT Date: 29 Oct 00 - 05:15 PM I can't find the old thread, so here is a new one. We were talking about having a hearme on Halloween Eve Monday nite, with people thinking of a few songs songs ahead of time, so we would not have as much dead air as usual. Get your favorites ready and sign on to hearme at a time convenient for you. |

Subject: RE: Halloween Hearme From: GUEST,guest reggie miles Date: 30 Oct 00 - 07:53 PM Wish I could be there but I've lost my ISP to bankruptcy. It's a sad and woeful story. I was really lookin' forward to doin' some spooky stuff too. I had Freei as my ISP, then they sent me to Netzero but all I get is an error message when I try to connect with them. So I downloaded Nocharge from on line but got the same kind of error when I tried to connect. Then I went to Juno's basic service which is free but still could not get on line due to, you guessed it. I'm on my way now to try one more. Wish me luck. |

Subject: RE: Halloween Hearme From: Susan of DT Date: 31 Oct 00 - 05:34 AM What a time for the internet to play games. I was on hearme for about an hour when hearme threw everyone off and reconnected. Then it threw everyone off and I could not get back on or even get connected to earthlink for several hours and had several whole computer crashes. Oh well. So all I sang was King Henry. |

Subject: RE: Halloween Hearme From: Mrs.Duck Date: 31 Oct 00 - 03:21 PM Hello it's Halloween here in England but everyone seems to have done their bit yesterday. This time lapse really confuses me. Are you ahead or behind GMT? Of course over here we don't really celebrate Halloween except for the kids who have picked up the idea from American TV shows. Still it would have been good to hear some of the somgs and if I ever get this mic fixed to join in!! |

Subject: RE: Halloween Hearme From: katlaughing Date: 31 Oct 00 - 09:31 PM Well I missed it last night because I thought you meant tonight which is All Hallow's Eve, the night before All Souls Day. I am willing to listen in for a little bit if anyone is going to be in there. I just went in a couple of minutes ago and no one was there. |
|
Subject: RE: Halloween Hearme From: IvanB Date: 31 Oct 00 - 09:51 PM kat, as you said, tonight is All Hallows' Eve, the eve of All Saints' Day. All Souls is actually November 2nd in the Roman catholic liturgy, a day of prayer for the souls in purgatory. I believe it's the same day in those Christian churches which maintain their catholicity, as well. |

Subject: RE: Halloween Hearme From: Lanfranc Date: 01 Nov 00 - 12:15 PM I snuck in for a while and sang: Vampire Rag (Milner, Hart & Francis) The Unquiet Grave ( Trad arr Francis) Soaling (Trad arr Yarrow/Stokey) Autumn Leaves (Prevost/Mercer) Soaling got in because by the time I sang it it was already All Souls' day.
