i'm looking at a song book i have and it's mainly a D-C-G with a few D7's thrown in toward the middle and the end. Or go to fathersonandfriends.com they have song books available. you'd want blue bonnets and white cockades. and the have damn good music to boot.

Here's a more complete response to this old question (from the Battlefield Band Songbook):

My (G)name's John Mackenzie, I'm a (C)master-at-(D)arms, I (G)carry my sword and my (C)shield on my (D)shoulder.
I've (G)fought every fight from the (C)Don to the (G)Danube, none (C)braver, none (G)better, none (D)bolder.
I've (D7)stood with Montrose and a(G)gainst him. I've (D7)battled with Swedes and with (G)Danes,
and I've carried the standards of (C)many's the (G)army through (C)many's the (G)bloody cam(D)paign.
But now as I sit in the firelight it seems there's a (D7)distant horizon to the sword buckler's gleam,
till a (G)pull at the vine brings an (C)old soldier's (G)dreams from a(D)far - for the rovin' dies (G)hard.
