Subject: Thanks from Robby From: Robby Date: 06 Nov 00 - 12:36 PM In case you haven't been back to the pertinent threads: Thanks, Áine, for clearing up my bungled double posting and directing me to the thread for adding "fada" to Irish words. That rates a double yoy (rhymes with toy) in Pittsburgh. And thanks to Mj, for the reference to the web site for searching family histories. What began as a desire to learn something of the prounciation of the family's surname in its original Irish, ended with pinpointing, I believe, the ships and dates of arrival in New York, of my great grandparents, Danny Meehan and Bridget McGoldrick. Once I cross the big pond, I hope to be able to check some other records and confirm this. But it was a grand week thanks to you two. Robby |
