If you go to

http://www.ifa.hawaii.edu/~yan/int/int.html

you find an interesting page with the Internationale in various languages. But something is strangely missing:
Isn't there an Irish (Gaelic) version?
Other languages I think should be there:
Arab (there's hundred millions people speaking Arab! So no one of them translated the Internationale?)
Rom (Larry Help!)
Latin (not so an intelligent thing... but it could be a funny translation exercise...)
Sardinian
Swahili
Hindi
Any Native American language, ranging from Inuit to Inca
Kurdish !!!
Hebrew (not Yiddish) Czech

Please help me and Yan with lyrics, messages, links, and so on.

So, no one is answering?
Other languages missing: Japanese
Korean
Albanese
Breton
Basque
Elfish, or any "Tolkien" language
Greek
Indonesian
Serb

With so many Mudcatters around the world, and with so many Americans with foreign ancestors around the Mudcat, will my call remain unanswered?

Scottish, Icelandic and Hawaiian too. (But do the Hawaiians have a language of their own? Sorry, I don't remember.)
Well, this is one of the things that trick my mind a lot, so I'll refresh this thread till I get some answers. Better you help me...

Grazie,ci provavo giusto stanotte a ricordarmi i versi in italiano! Bentornatttt'.

Ciao. I suppose the Internationale was translated in nearly all languages. It's called the Internationale, after all.

I'll refresh this thread till death...

Sorry, I haven't anything to add, because the Welsh was at the top of the list when I checked the link! I could add that T.E.Nicholas was one of the great poets of the time, I suppose...

Yes, it was me who added the Welsh. Try to get that CD, it's very very good!
Last refresh, if no one is interested.

Well, the Esperanto version linked to at the site cited is not the traditional one. I guess I'll have to add L'Internacio to my song collection (the traditional version is in the Japanese collection De Kant' al Kanto 2 from TEKo, and I reprinted it a few years ago in my Donu Hejmon al mi... published for the Washington State Historical Museum on the occasion of an exhibit on communes and collectives).

Okay, I've posted the two Esperanto versions I'm aware of here.

Also the thematically related Polish revolutionary song called, I believe, Whirlwinds of Danger in English. Would like to find the Polish text.

Liland: I have a Russian text for the "Varshavyanka" ("Whirlwinds of Danger"), but not Polish. I, too, would be interested in having it in Polish.

Here it is in Hebrew, Chaim Chefer's version.

Kum am oved harem daglecha
Min hasade min hasadna
Kol hara'ev shalom velechem
Hu ach itcha la'emuna
Olam yashan adai yesod nacharima
Megev kafuf nifrok ha'ol
Et olamenu az nakima
Lo chlum etmol-machar hakol!

Sang it in English and German last Thursday - Alistair Hulett was here. He must be the only one who still includes it in his sets! Great night, though the poor guy was not so much singing as croaking due to a throat infection.

I was once at a public meeting in Edinburgh organized by the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran. They finished by getting us all to sing the Internationale in whatever language we knew it in, all together. It ended up as Farsi-only since virtually none of the Scottish audience (me included) knew more than one verse.

yes, Fedele, I have heard a verse sung in Irish Gaelic. I think the Irish lyrics are published in a booklet titled "Abair Amhrán"

GAELIC VERSION

Eirigi, a lucht ocrais, as bhur gcodladh!
Eirigi, a dhaoraithe na gainne!
Mar anois ta an reabhloid ag tonnadh,
is ta deire le re na cainte!
Amach le bhur bpisreoga uile,
A sciabhaite, Eirigi! Eirige!
Athrom anois na sean-droch-idi,
'S teanam i mbaol ar thoir na buaidhe!

Anois a chairde, tagaigi uile
Ta an cogadh deiridh ar suil!
Aontaionn an tidirnaisiunta
An cine daonna go leir!

Nil trust ar bith againn i dtaoisigh
Na suil le slanaitheoir o neamh
's muid ag braith ar ar lamha feinig
Chun saol nua a bhaint amach!
Os muid a chruthaios gach saibhreas,
Os muid a throideas gach cath
Aontaithe le chiele gan aon aighneas
Is againn a bheas an rath

Anois a chairde, tagaigi uile
Ta an cogadh deiridh ar suil!
Aontaionn an tidirnaisiunta
An cine daonna go leir!
