A couple of weeks ago I searched DT for "alamo" to see what verses were used for Remember the Alamo, Trio, Horton, Cash, etc. I came across The Ballad Of The Alamo as recorded by Marty Robbins and I was dumbfounded. I've been doing Big Iron and Master's Call for years, how did I miss that? A search of the forum revealed this song's connection to John Wayne's movie and I had an idea of how it sounded. I headed out to see if I could find this on CD, not holding out much hope, and I SCORED. Spent an hour today tryin' to hammer this out, and I'm close. Man, what a song. Thanks to all who put this info out there for me, even though it was not aimed at me. What a great medium this is. I thought for years I was alone!!! Thanks again, Mike Bennett
