Poniatowski is an unincorporated rural community within the town of Rietbrock, in Marathon County, Wisconsin. Its only claim to fame is the fact that it is located at 45 degrees north latitude and 90 degrees west longitude, "the center of the northern half of the western hemisphere," and thus, as the Berryman's say, ridiculously easy to find on a 4-inch globe—the location, that is, but not the name.

I had never heard of Poniatowski, but of course I had heard of the Berrymans, which is why I happened to be looking at this thread.

He mumbled, "There's a place that's always fascinated me.
I'll probably mispronounce it," he admitted with a sigh.
