There's a very well designed site called "garageband" in which one can post songs after reviewing 20 songs. Every song gets listened to 25 times by random reviewers (usually others who submit songs).

I've gotten some good reviews, and a few harsh ones like "garbage" and "cheap". Wahoo!

I guess it's a learned skill to pay attention to them all, and not just focus on the negatives. No matter what one does, there's always someone who won't like it.

and then there are the "snobs" - every field has them. The type people who would not admit something is good if it killed them. Taking a wine tasting course at one point, and the instructor switched labels around on the bottles and ran the same taste tests two days in a row with us; suppossedly to demonstrate that judgement can vary from day to day. Most of the class was very puzzled to find their scores were very different between the days - except for a couple of "wine snobs" who were quite obviosuly marking from the labels - because not only were they consistant (by label) between the two days, but gave kudos to a small NY state wine they had panned the day before. (Most of the others in the class found we were much more consistant when you went by the actual wine then the lable)

The only negative reviews that you need to take notice of are those that explain nicely, exactly what is wrong with the song.
