Subject: RE: Bruce Hutton & Chris Romaine 1/27/01 From: Sourdough Date: 11 Dec 00 - 11:49 PM Does Bruce Hutton played psaltery or hammered duclimer? If so, he did the music for a series of children's public service television pieces I did for Fields Television Network. He was a real pleasure to work with. Sourdough |
Subject: RE: Bruce Hutton & Chris Romaine 1/27/01 From: Fortunato Date: 21 Dec 00 - 09:50 AM I can't think of a traditional instrument Bruce doesn't play and he has made a long successful career of playing for children at schools and festivals. His jugband workshop at the Washington Folk Festival each year packs the tent with musicians from 3 to ? and is a tremendous hit from year to year. Come see us at the Mile! Chance Shiver |

I'm hoping to turn the Royal Mile into a genuine FOLK VENUE! If you want to see folk music available in our area in a pub atmosphere, please come out and support us! Chance

Subject: RE: Bruce Hutton & Chris Romaine 1/27/01 From: GUEST,RiGGy Date: 11 Jan 01 - 03:47 PM Hey ~ tell Chris I really appreciated him passing his Volvo "Ootek the Dark" to me back in '76 !! Riggy |
Subject: RE: Bruce Hutton & Chris Romaine 1/27/01 From: Fortunato Date: 12 Jan 01 - 08:58 AM All right Riggy, but I'm not sure what 'passing a volvo' means, although Chris clearly survived. You can remember 1976? I think I envy you, but I'm not sure. regards, Chance |

Subject: RE: Bruce Hutton & Chris Romaine 1/27/01 From: KathWestra Date: 23 Jan 01 - 02:53 PM Wearing my cheerleader hat (no, not the pom poms -- too old for that!), I want to urge you DC-area folks to come on Saturday. In addition to hearing some terrific music, it's really important to support what Chance is trying to do here. There are precious few clubs and commercial venues in town where you can hear good traditional blues and old-timey music. Club owners aren't going to agree to host stuff like this unless it brings out a crowd (one that buys food and brew and leaves good tips for the waitstaff). |
