I'm looking for websites that let you post and browse listings for musicans looking for a band, or a band for a musician, etc.

Anyone know of any good sites?

I did a quick search using the single word, musician.

Thanks, George, but I already checked that one out. They have lots of general information about the music business (e.g. what sort of equipment to use, advice about recording, contact information with instructors for voice and instrumental lessons, advice about composing, what's going in the industry, etc.), but I couldn't find anything similar to what I'm looking for.

The only thing I've found so far is musicians.net
but it's not a very good site, and I'm wondering if there's another one out there that maybe more people are using.

There's the Harmony Central site -- don't recall the URL, but it should be easy to find by typing those words into your search engine. It has free listings sorted geographically -- by zip code in the US. You'll find a lot of folks who want to be the next Nine Inch Nails or Alice In Chains, and precious little else. But that's probably true of most musician's referral sites (face it, we're outnumbered). Anyway, it's worth a shot.

Ah-ha, perhaps this could be a Mudcat to the rescue service. Max, wasn't there a thread asking for suggestions for the Mudcat a couple weeks ago?

I had found a website a while back that purported to be a pagan musicians online resource with just these sorts of listings...but last time I checked none of the links worked...

I could use this, too, I wanna round up some musicians to record something this spring...
