Subject: seeking artist and title: 'Don't You'
From: GUEST,Bob Velander
Date: 08 Dec 00 - 09:50 AM

I am seeking the name and artist of the song which begins:

"Don't you ever miss my smilin' face Lookin' back at you in love's embrace?"

Further lyrics include:

"Don't you ever miss me, too Just the way that I miss you? Don't you, don't you?"

At the end of the song the lyric is, "D-o-n-t-y-o-u?"

If you can help with this, please email me at

Quincy, What does that mean, "refresh"...?

Your request drops off the bottom of the list after 24 hours. "Refresh" will bring it back for another 24, giving more folks a chance to see it.

Good luck, sorry I can't help.

Bob, is this country, or what? Any idea how old the song might be? Remember any other portions of the lyrics?
Anything you can tell us, might help us.

Funny, that's the only song on the album I DON'T know! Forester Sisters...great stuff. Every Country child of the 80's knows and loves them well...

I found a sample at Allmusic.com:

DON'T YOU? (excerpt)
Johnny Pierce, Otha Young

Don't you ever wish you had me back?
Don't you ever think about that?
Don't you ever want me to
Come a-runnnin' back to you?
Don't you? Don't you?

Ever'body's talkin' 'bout the way you're never talkin' about me.
Don't you ever...?

[Recorded by The Forester Sisters. It's on their "Greatest Hits" album. I haven't identified anyone else who has recorded it, although there are lots of recordings of other songs with the same title.]

DON'T YOU
(recorded by the Forester Sisters)

Don’t you ever miss my smiling face?
Looking back at you in love’s embrace
Don’t you ever miss me too just the way that I miss you?
Don’t you? Don’t you?

Don’t you ever wish you had me back?
Don’t you ever think about that?
Don’t you ever want me to come around and back to you?
Don’t you? Don’t you?

Everybody’s talking 'bout the way you’re never talking about me
Don’t you ever get a little lonely for the way it used to be? Used to be?

Don’t you ever stop and wonder why?
We’re not really too much satisfied
Don’t you really need me too just the way that I need you?
Don’t you, baby, don’t you?

Everybody’s talking 'bout the way you’re never talking about me
Don’t you ever get a little lonely for the way it used to be? You and me

Don’t you ever want another taste?
Of something you can’t get no other place
Don’t you ever miss it to D-O-N-T-Y-O-U?
Don’t you? Don’t you? Don’t you baby?
Don’t you? Don’t you? Don’t you baby?
Don’t you? Don’t you?
