Thank you all for your wishes. When I think of my mother at this age I remember her as being matronly and, well, old. Here I am at 48 amazed that I AM 48. It all seems so funny. Birthdays are such a laugh anyway. Now if you'll excuse me, my old china is getting ready to put the candles on the cake.
