Hi. This is a real long shot, but...I'd like to meet and perhaps play and sing with some fellow Mudcats while visiting with my folks this Christmas. If there happens to be a get-together that would be open to me, or if anyone wants to meet and chat over a beer or coffee, please let me know.

Now for the disclaimers (BG)--I'll be in the area from Saturday afternoon (23rd) through Wednesday night. Naturally, some of the time is earmarked for family fellowship. I'm not sure exactly what times I'd be free for other visiting.

In order to play if there's a music session, I'd need to have a left-handed guitar. Can anyone suggest a local store where I could rent one?

As I said, it's a bit of a long shot, but the idea of meeting some of you is very appealing. If anyone is willing and able, let me know and I'll see if I can arrange it. Thanks.

well, we live in Wheaton, near Kensington....so....let me see what is happening...details are sketchy at this moment...but, there is a fair sized group of us, and things often happen..(don't know of a left-handed guitarist who is likely to be there, but The House of Musical Traditions in Takoma Park is near, and Dale Music on Georgia Ave in Silver Spring are possibilities

Boy, it sounds like fun. For the first time in years, however, we will be out of town this Christmas, visiting my sister in Ann Arbor. When will you be in the D.C. Area?

Any chance you'll be here for New Year's Eve? If so, I can offer you a laid-back, rather country-music-oriented gathering in Kensington. We even have a left-handed guitarist in the crowd. One of her great recreations is freely handing her guitar to unsuspecting borrowers and watching to see how long it takes them to figure out what's "wrong" with it. Anyhow, if New Years Eve is a possibility for you, e-mail me at nlking@bellatlantic.net.

*grin* Nan would even share her guitar with those who DO know how to use it........sounds like Gary will only be here from 23rd thru 29th, but maybe something will happen...mentioned it to Charlie Baum tonight.

Well, shoot, Nancy, that sounds great. Unfortunately, I doubt it will be possible for me to extend my stay at this point in the game. The plan (and airline tickets) call for heading back this way on Thursday morning (Dec. 27th). I (sob) hope you all (sniff) have a great time anyway (wah). Carol, it may be hard for us to do much more than say "hi" in passing. I can send you a phone # in a PM if you want to give it a try.

Thanks for keeping an ear out for possibilities, Bill. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Hi Gary T,

I was thinking I might be able to extend my stay a day or two if it looked like there might be something going on, but it doesn't look like there is.

The paranoid part of me was thinking maybe you guys were making plans via personal messages so as to not have an accordion in attendence... Naahhhh.

Now I think maybe Bill D is pissed at me for saying uncomplimentary things about Wheaton, instead. (Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean I'm wrong.)

Have a great trip, and a wonderful holiday.

Carol
