Of course since the tune is "Polly Wolly Doodle All the Day" this song is not all that old, & born in America.

Jerry & Bev Praver and others sang this seasonally appropriate song at our song circle this evening. They missed a verse or two, but I found it in a songbook. Fun song - they said they learned it as kids.
