Subject: When New York Was Irish From: Leprechaun Date: 24 Sep 97 - 10:36 AM I haven't been able to locate a version of a song I heard last St. Patrick's Day. The lyrics, I remember, went: "They were ever so happy, they were ever so sad. (don't remember, don't remember) Through good times and bad. (don't remember, again) When New York was Irish, full of joys and heartbreak." |

Subject: RE: When New York Was Irish From: Tim Date: 24 Sep 97 - 04:50 PM A local D.C. Irish band by the name of Celtic Thunder did an original tune called "When New York was Irish" and I think they named an album after it, too. They are on Green Linnet records, so it should pretty easy to find the CD. I don't have it so I don't know if that is what you are looking for, but you might check it out with Green Linnet. |
