How truly wonderful for you, Mick. Babies are such a treasure.....such tiny little people, and even at one day, they do tend to be their "own" person, not just a generic baby. They train us well, don't they? (answer that in 2 months--*BG*)

Congratulations on a wonderful baby, and a wonderful choice of birthdays, too... I've always enjoyed it. Just around that time of morning, too, 21 years ago... Merry Christmas, all!

Much love, Mick and Claire, for Patrick: a special baby and a very special day.

I was brought home on Christmas Day and Mum always tells me how special that was.

Well, let me tell ya!
I'm picking her them up tomorrow! (I'll be playing in Liverpool tomorrow night) They wouldn't let them out today (Christmas Day) because the Patrick had a touch of jaundice.

Claire was a bit tearful because they couldn't come home.

I will print out this thread for her to let her know that people care! Mny thanks!

Mick

they nearly all get jaundiced Mick (little liver not able to break down all the extra red blood cells that the baby needed while in utero... )... but its better they keep them in for that extra day rather than send them home and have to bring them back in again.....

if he isn't in phototherapy tell Claire to park him beside the window, sunlight helps break down the jaundice... as does extra feeds.......

Best thoughts for the homecoming today, Mick, Claire and Patrick. Store up lots of wonderful memories- this day won't happen again. BTW, where in L'pool are you playing? Might even meet up some time.

kat: thanks for the greeting, but I was born on the 16th. They used to keep mums & babies in hospital for much longer in those far-off days...

My best wishes to Patrick, Mick and Claire. Trust those nurses - they know what's best. And it's a little scary to take them home without the "staff" that's been attending to their every need. I know the joy that you have today. It is special beyond words. You are in my prayers.

Congratulations Mick and Claire and welcome Patrick.Don't let them gyp you out of pressies just 'cos you were born at Christmas!! And Mick, Claire was probably going to get a bit weepy anyway, I cried buckets for no discernible reason at all
