I love to feel the ooze between my toes that comes from dancing in cow pastures in acid rain! It makes me sing, "I Ride an Old Paint" (but I don't mind if you are a young whipsnapper)! I love the squeek of fine quality Naugahyde as we are grooving to Larry Welk and blowing bubbles at each other! It's even better with a background smell of old socks. I love to travel to exotic places, too, and I have vacationed at Beaver Dam, TX, Cox City, OK, and Hogeye, AR! (I've never been to Fresno, but I saw the movie.) McDonald's is my favorite kind of plastic to put a torch to, and the stench sends me to burger bliss! French-fried muggles are supreme! In short, I am so glad I have found a soul mate out of this perfect dud of a thread!!! Now, put down that six-pack, get a smelly t-shirt on, and call me! (I hope you have good credit...) ;) Audi (P.S. DougR--I recognize that third challenge...but the last thing I need right now is seriousness. I act fast, but I am really a slow go. However, I shall NOT forget your taunt, and you will pay! I will have your apology within 6 months! Never challenge an obsessive, outrageous redhead...!) ;)

They caught him as he was going in to hear his kid's class sing Christmas carols and you could hear his excitement in his voice. They even taped a little of the concert he was listening to. The kids were pretty good. He apparently includes an unplugged selection in his conserts too. I need to hear more of this guy, preferably on my own stereo so I can turn down the volume. He's loud! |

And watch out for the kid. He plays at being innocent but... BTW, Matt, last week I heard a report and interview with a rocker, Dick Dale(?), whose stuff sounded pretty good to me. You have any more info on him? He's been doing the rock stuff since the late 50's but I hadn't heard of him before this. They say he's the fastest hardest picker on stage. He shreds his fingers and his picks and blasts more decibels than anyone else. (exaggerations, I'm sure) He himself explained that he has to use the heaviest gauge strings to get through half a concert without breaking a string. |

I'm sure Matt is doing the same. We are all experienced in the intricacies of the internet and know that who you see on the screen ain't necessarily who's sitting at the other keyboard. And we are more suspicious with her/his reluctance to provide any information about him/herself. Besides, it isn't as though I have any plans to meet up with this person in 3d-land. Audi probably lives on the left coast or midwest. Or maybe even in some foreign land like Florida. (From the phrasing of the language in his/her posts I am guessing we're dealing with a United Statesian.) I am more than willing to travel as far as New Hampster to make music with new friends on a regular basis but farther than that is a special event. And now, back to the fantasy. Our hero, having just been dealt severe blows by the young upstart from North Carolina, is resting and exchanging pleasant insults with his opponent. Our hero has been damged but he isn't out of the running. The Kid, far from looking damaged, has slipped a CD into his portable player and is dancing to some energetic music. To gauge by what is slipping out past his earphones it certainly ain't old time fiddle and banjo!
