Subject: RE: Thought for the Day, January 1, 2001! From: Peg Date: 01 Jan 01 - 11:54 AM kat; I was also given copies of the midheaven, dusk and midnight salutations as well if you are interested in a snippet from them. I needed something short but potent (oh my did I type that out loud?) to do some workings this month and these rituals contain some very quotable bits! bright blessings, peg |

Subject: RE: Thought for the Day, January 1, 2001! From: Peg Date: 01 Jan 01 - 02:20 PM Amergin: bless you and know you are loved by many. Look to the simple pleasures of nature, I know that sounds corny but I find it be a great source of solace and strength, the wintry landscape has an amazing and healing beauty to it...

Subject: RE: Thought for the Day, January 1, 2001! From: Allan C. Date: 01 Jan 01 - 07:00 PM Peg, that is wonderful. I truly appreciate it. But I can also appreciate the sentiments of my favorite, less optimistic author: New Year's Day - Now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual. Yesterday, everybody smoked his last cigar, took his last drink, and swore his last oath. Today, we are a pious and exemplary community. Thirty days from now, we shall have cast our reformation to the winds and gone to cutting our ancient shortcomings considerably shorter than ever. We shall also reflect pleasantly upon how we did the same old thing last year about this time. However, go in, community. New Year's is a harmless annual institution, of no particular use to anybody save as a scapegoat for promiscuous drunks, and friendly calls, and humbug resolutions, and we wish you to enjoy it with a looseness suited to the greatness of the occasion. - Mark Twain |
