Subject: lament of a workingn class heroes wife From: TamthebamfraeScotland Date: 17 Jan 01 - 09:42 AM Hello my name is Tom, and I'm looking for the correct words to lament of a working class heroes wife. I have the song on cd, but as you may know trying to copy the words from a cd is nearly impossible becase you can't really know what the word are, and so when you write them do sometimes in works and then again sometimes it doesn't. So if there is anyone out there who has the words to lament of a working class heroes wife. I would be really grateful. Thanks again Tom Hamilton |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: lament of a workingn class heroes wi From: Wolfgang Date: 17 Jan 01 - 10:28 AM Tom, that's about the sixth thread you start looking for the same song, whereas the lyrics have already been posted in one of your earlier threads. I guess you don't know how to refind old threads. In your case, go to the main page and set 'age' to the appropriate time (e.g., 14 days), put 'lament' in the 'filter' and click on 'refresh' to find all your threads about this song. But you're welcome to come back with this request when you are not contented with the lyrics Catrin has posted. Wolfgang |

by Kathy Henderson with Frankie Armstrong and Sandra Kerr. The book was published in England, and I believe it is currently out of print. If you cannot get a copy through inter-library loan, there are several copies available on the 21 North Main used book website: Mary

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: lament of a workingn class heroes wi From: Amergin Date: 17 Jan 01 - 02:37 PM I resent this song as being antiworker and antimale. I hereby protest all usage of this set of lyrics as detrimental to the male working class. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: lament of a workingn class heroes wi From: Wolfgang Date: 18 Jan 01 - 03:09 AM Catrin, I love being corrected in these matters for the sake of learning. It was a typical German mistake, for 'if' in German is 'wenn'. Wolfgang |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: lament of a workingn class heroes wi From: TamthebamfraeScotland Date: 18 Jan 01 - 12:05 PM Hello Wolfgang, I mean it's all right for you to be so smart about this, however there are people like me who are new to the mudcat cafe site. It's all right for you to be so critical about me, or people like me. You've got to remember that we're not as smart as you. And I just found out about filters and refreshers and how to find out about getting these threads back. So the next time someone comes onto this website, please be a bit more helpful in future. Tom Thanks again for telling me about age and filters and how to get the lyrics. But as I say don't be so cheeky and sound like a smartass. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: lament of a workingn class heroes wi From: Wolfgang Date: 18 Jan 01 - 12:19 PM Sorry, Tom, if I sounded so, it was not my intention at all. I remember quite well how many mistakes I have made (and still make) for not knowing something. It is difficult if you tell a thing for the twentieth time to remember that you tell it to the person in question the very first time and that you should sound as polite as you did when you were telling it really for the first time. Sorry once more. Wolfgang |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: lament of a workingn class heroes wi From: TamthebamfraeScotland Date: 18 Jan 01 - 01:52 PM That's all right and I must say that I'm sorry about the way that I put it. Wolfgang. I'll try and be a bit more polite as well. Tom |
