Well I definitely win the prize for space cadet of the day. Being fairly new to the use of computers is my only excuse for all of the above - I did not know how to delete my repeated mistaken entries. Anyway, my question is for a friend who has moved to northeast PA and is looking for other musicians to jam/connect with. Leads anyone? I'll check back tomorrow (Thursday)from the library.

Mary,

You can't delete extras-- so don't worry. Only the site's volunteer cadre can do that trick.

Where exactly is this person? We are an hour north of Williamsport, and willing to travel halfway to just about anywhere. My husband and I are enthusiastic amateurs, and we play a variety of genres with a few others of like stripe here in our area. Some of these people also are portable. And there are a couple of others in our area, we hear, plus some in Williamsport. As far as venues... slim to none. One coffeehouse here with too-precious poetry readings and the occasional folkie.

Also, please pass on our recommendation of Yale Music Shop, Sayre PA.

A little further from us is Ithaca, NY... lots of stuff. And more Mudcatters to the north of there.

Oh and there is a Mudcat member, maybe near Scranton? Gospel Picker. Haven't seen him around here much latetly but I can e-mail him if your friend and our little gang of amateurs get together. Or you can give your friend my e-mail address.

Nice thing yer doing, BTW!

~Susan

I'm also near Scranton and attend the monthly open sing of the N.E. Pa Folklore Society. Next month it's 2/9 in Scranton. E-mail is jmdaak@epix.net if interested. TonyK

I'm in the Stroudsburg area, Monroe County. Every other Thursday there is an open mike at the Molten Java Coffee House in Effort on route 115. Tomorrow is the evening and I will be there for a short set.

Praise, How far are you from Wellsboro Pa?? It's also about an hour North (maybe northwest) of Williamsport. My sister has a place up there called the Antlers Inn. It's a great place to eat and if you can find a better homemade cheesecake anywhere, I'll buy it for you. In any case, I'm up there a lot, just curious how far you are...???

Frank!

Well, lessee.... 10 minutes.

My husband is rector of St. Paul's, Wellsboro.

We love The Antlers. Are you related to the Lundgren's we know from our parish?????????

I hear an odd sound... like ripping, run backwards... must be what it sounds like when the world shrinks!

Come on up! It's snowing prettily and non-violently!

(Bring cheesecake, we'll put the espresso on!)

~S~

So cool!

Cheesecake for all.....!!!!

Just hint that if she is not amenable, we'll head over to the Log Cabin!

Seriously, St. Paul's acoustics ROOL. It would be there. Spilling onto the Green. Antlers would cater!

I will vouch for the acoustics at St. Paul's - a loverly place to sing. it would be a great place for one of the mudcat tour stops. Especially if we have a nice fall.

And where is not the issue as much as when!! I need to check my calendar and see what weekend I have available to come up......I'll let you know...

OK, Mmario, special retroactive Friday dispensation. But please, come see us, or ask us up there. I know the DOG misses you... OK, we do too.

Of course we would have to snag Dharmabum. Has a cabin in the area. Due for a visit, I think, or so I been telling him.

Seamus Kennedy passes through periodically and has indicated he will visit on a trip soon; I think his next one this way is in March...

And even some of the Orillians seem brave enough to try the trip.

Post-fire HOUSE BLESSING planned for spring or MAYBE early summer.

Give us your availability and we will work around it, folks.

Also we jam with friends the third Friday each month.

Sleepovers encouraged! French toast... bacon.... Thai iced coffee milkshakes for breakfast after breakfast... yup. I can see cheesecake with that....

We have VERY CUTE pajammies too. Hardi's in particular....

Be sure you bring your own towel is all we ask!

~S~
