Please Ignore the other one- We're not having an Iris Festival - Nothing to do with Flowers !!

The Warm up concert for the Sheffield Irish Festival is on Friday 2nd Feb at St Phillip's Social Club. The bill is toped by the Frain family from Rotherham.

It Should be a really good night. St Phillips club is between Shalesmoor and the University Round about. You can see it on the left if you drive from the Shalesmoor roundabout up the dual carriageway. The actual small road that it is on is Daisy Walk. Anyone with better directions please post them.

Could someone refresh this is a couple of days as I will be away from my machine at a funeral in Edinburgh.

All the best

Julie

What's wrong with an Iris festival? If it's good enough for Brussels why not Sheffield...;-) (Brussels Iris festival - April? - Saw a traditional Engish Morris side from Anderlecht there a couple of years back - go figure!)

Noreen I am off to the pub tonight where it is all organised. I will try and get some sense out of the people there - they huddle around a table in the back room by the fire. If I find out anything I will post it

As soon as I have the details about the rest of the festival I will post them. It runs at various venues in Sheffield in March and last year covered a wide range of aspects from serious conferences to lots of music. I know that there are music workshops being organised.

Fine - Quite a good turnout and great bands but a wee bit of a problem with the sound ( Spliced cable - caused period duck sounds). Consequently, we have a mixing desk and pile of wires stuck in our front room and discussions abound about how to manage the sound for the festival.

All the best

Julie
