Hello everyone.I have to move house this year and relocate in the Derbyshire area, probably around Matlock.Obviously,the exact location will depend on whether I can be near a folk club!Any advice would be much appreciated.

Graham Pirt of Cockersdale has just got a house in Matlock He still lives in Goole but is fixing it up for his retirement.

3 Stags Inn is about 45 minutes away from you on the Sheffield to Chapel-en-le-Frith road - musicians roll in most Saturday nights. It's busier when the weather gets better.

Watch out for Matlock Bath on a Sunday - unless you are into Harley Davisons and lots of men in black leather...;-)

Get yourself over to Kettlewell at some point. 2pubs in the village opposite each other (one is blue bell hotel, can't remember the other). Anyway, they both do a FINE pint of Theakson's old peculiar which is well worth a journey from Matlock.
