Edwin

If you type 'Eliza Carthy' into the Digitrad and forum search box you should find a discussion about this song - spellings differ between standard English, Geordie, Scots and Irish.

There is also a version in the database called Herring's Head, which is vaguely similar

There's also:

harrins backs - fishin' smacks
harrins tails - buckets and pails
harrins scales - a barrel of ale/a ship that sails

Naebody's mentioned "Harrin's back - Laddie ca'ed Jack" - And yes, I've heard the "Colour telly" too.
