Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Rutabaga Boogie From: cnd Date: 19 Jan 23 - 08:22 AM Listen to the version from Paul Shelasky (click (the Mad Music link above is now dead) There is a song called Rutabaga Boogie by the Ohio band Good Company which I can't track down a recording of. Their version is by an R. Smith (probably bass guitarist Bob Smith, if I had to guess). See the release here and some discussion about the band here. |

I swear I heard somewhere there something like Gotta rutabaga pants an rutabaga shoes, When I'm feeling kind down I sing the rutabaga blues ....which, even if I imagined it, will fit in there just behind that last verse... |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Rutabaga Boogie From: GUEST,Cactus Chris Date: 02 Jul 16 - 02:18 PM There are two videos of the song on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFMYiripOkM and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5u1MBY-RKs Between the two you might figure out the lyrics. But they're both fast and sort of garbled. |

Subject: Rutabaga Boogie From: Seth Date: 30 Jan 01 - 09:14 AM I go pretty far back with Laurie Lewis and Kathy Kalleck. When they were part of "The Good Old Persons" playing at the Freight and Salvage club in Berkeley, California. They wrote a great song with Paul Shelasky and put it on their first album " The Good Old Persons", probably on Bay Records. Does anyone know the lyrics to " Rutabaga Boogie"? I sure would be tickled if you did. Seth from China |
