Subject: paltalk hardware From: mkebenn Date: 02 Feb 01 - 07:03 AM I've been "lurking" about paltalk for a while, and without a mic, it's like starving and staring in the bakery window with no cash. My question is, if I have realplayer already, what kind of mic do I need, how much, and does quality play as much of a factor as it does in the "real" world. Do I need a new sound card or what. Any help appreciated, and I hope you won't regret it later{LOL} Mike |

Subject: RE: Help: paltalk hardware From: Noreen Date: 02 Feb 01 - 07:49 AM Apparently so- get a cheapo mic and try it? If it isn't satisfactory then you can cross more bridges... Look forward to hearing you! Noreen |

Subject: RE: Help: paltalk hardware From: GUEST,Nynia (at Uni) Date: 02 Feb 01 - 08:14 AM As has been said the quality of the mic seems to make little difference. The quality of the soundcard itself does however seem to make a difference to sound quality. Get a cheap mic and get started mate, it's a shame you've missed Jon's room. Maybe the new one will prove to be as good. Nynia. |
