Several years ago I heard Jean Redpath sing this on "A Prairie Home Companion". The lyrics began something like "When I was just a wee, wee tot, they put me on a wee wee pot>" Does anyone have the rest of it?

My father used to sing that one!

WEE WEE

When I was a wee wee tot,
They took me from my wee wee cot
And placed me on my wee wee pot,
To see if I would wee or not.

Wee wee, wee wee
Wee wee, wee wee

And when they found that I would not,
They took me from my wee wee pot
And placed me in my wee wee cot
Where I wee wee-ed quite a lot.

Wee wee, wee wee
Wee wee, wee wee

They took me from my wee wee cot
And there they spanked my wee wee bot--
Which goes to show that I should not
Drink much water when it's hot.

Wee wee, wee wee
Wee wee, wee wee

It's also on a phono record by Arthur Argo, 'A Wee Thread of Blue'. I also once heard a version collected in the Appalachains, sung at a crafts featival. I think, but can't remembber for sure, that the singer was Betty Smith.

If you had searched for [wee wee] you would have found the words in the DT

The Argo version is not as good as the Redpath one. I got hers from her own lips in Vancouver 30 years ago, with an extra verse:

When I was young and in my prime

I used to wee wee all the time,

Now that I am getting grey

I scarce can manage twice a day.

Versions of the first 2 stanzas [somewhat garbled] are in Harry Morgan, "More Rugby Songs" (London: Sphere, 1968); for all I know, they might be to a different tune.
