Subject: Lyr Add: FIL, FIL A RÚN Ó From: GUEST,lmh@rcons.com Date: 21 Aug 01 - 03:25 AM From IrTrad, I just found this: It is a very popular Donegal song "Fil, Fil A Run O", written in 1739. It is the lament of a mother whose son "changed his coat" during the Penal times. FIL, FIL A RÚN Ó Fil, fil a rún ó fil a rún ó is ná himigh uaim Fillorm a chuisle's a stór, Agus chifidh tú 'n ghlóir má fhillean tú
Shúil mise thall is abhus
Fil, fil a rún ó
Dhiúltaigh tú Peadar is Pól
Fil, Fil a rún ó, |
