Does anybody have the lyrics of "The Greenwood Side" (traditional, sung by Joan Baez on 'Joan' album)? I've looking for those lyrics for long time without any success...

Try "The Cruel Mother" in the Digitrad -- click "C" in the blue box at the top right of the thread and scroll down to "Cruel". There are lots of versions in there, probably the one you want among them. If not, post to tell us, and I'll go drag out those old Baez albums and see what I can find...

(PSST... be sure to look on "Next Full Page" within the versions.)

Sarah

Joan published a Ballad Book, have you ever checked to see it "The Cruel Mother" is in it?

Links to all the variants available in the DT and Forum, and some at other sites (except for one or two sets of the children's game version that have been posted here more recently) are at:  The Cruel Mother

I believe that the version Baez used does appear in the book Sandy mentioned.

Malcolm
