In the pale moonshine our hearts entwine where she carved her name and I carved mine!

Does anyone know what song this is from? Or is it from a poem?

"In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, on the trail of the lonesome Pine In the pale moonshine, our hearts entwine, where she carved her name and I carved mine..." The words are from The Trail of the Lonesome Pine as sung by Laurel and Hardy. Sorry don't remember which film.

Sorry about the extra entries - don't know where they came from, as I only submitted the message once.

Anyway, the missing words are: "Oh June, like the mountains on Blue, like the pine, I am lonesome for you, in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, on the trail of the lonesome Pine."

From the film Way Out West (1937)

Regards,

Ron
