Does anyone know the title of this song and the female artist that recorded in the 1980's. It was very popular at weddings.

Lyrics go something like this:

You by the side, Your hand in mine This is the hour, this is the day And I can hear sweet voices singing, Ave Maria

Thanks!!

This is called Ave Maria, I'm sure. There was a hit version in the sixties and I'm sure there was a Shirley Basey version too.

It was called "The Wedding". Julie Rogers recorded it 1964. Don't have the words

Subject: Lyr Add: THE WEDDING SONG (from Daniel O'Donnell)
From: Quincy

The words I have I've just transcribed from a Daniel O'Donnell cd.....

The Wedding Song

You by my side, that's how I see us,
I close my eyes and I can see us,
We're on our way to say I do
My secret dreams have all come true.

I see the church, I see the people,
Your folks and mine, happy and smiling
And I can hear sweet voices singing..
Ave Maria.

O my love, my love, can this really be,
That someday you'll walk down the aisle with me.
Let it be, make it be, you're the one for me
I'll be yours, all yours, now and forever.

I see us now, your hand in my hand,
This is the hour, this is the moment,
And I can hear sweet voices singing..
Ave Maria, Ave Maria, Ave Maria.

best wishes, Yvonne
