Subject: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: annamill Date: 12 Feb 01 - 01:04 PM Hi! I started a new thread for the new dat and time. Can some nice person please create a link to the old thread for me, please. Well, only 5 days til the gathering. I am really looking forward to this meeting of new and old friends. I'm getting my house ready. We are going out to buy lots of food and drink Wednesday. We will get our grill up and running. It will be cold, but that's no reason we can't grill. Getting the blowup beds out. Making room in the gym and music room for guests. Everyone is invited! Love, annamill |

Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: SINSULL Date: 12 Feb 01 - 01:52 PM I am driving down from NYC. Anyone need a ride? |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: Naemanson Date: 12 Feb 01 - 02:16 PM It's a kid weekend so no long trips this weekend. Otherwise, Sinsull, I'd let you drive by from NYC and pick me up. *BG* |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: annamill Date: 12 Feb 01 - 02:31 PM Thank you Amergin. L.A. |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: SINSULL Date: 12 Feb 01 - 03:32 PM Bring the kiddies, naemi. Maybe we will finally get the REAL story about our gentle giant. |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: Naemanson Date: 12 Feb 01 - 03:38 PM Actually that's not a bad idea, Sins. I'll talk to the kid and see what she might want to do. She may not really be interested but, who knows, with a trip to the Big Apple and NJ, she might jump at the chance. |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: Naemanson Date: 12 Feb 01 - 03:39 PM And what "real" story do you want about me? |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: annamill Date: 12 Feb 01 - 03:43 PM Naemanson, how old is your daughter? We generally don't have small children at the gatherings. We really don't have the facilities for them in the winter. Perhaps in the summer we can have a family gathering. I have lot's of room outside for the children to run. I'm sorry. Love, annamill |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: Naemanson Date: 12 Feb 01 - 04:43 PM She'll be 17 next week. |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: annamill Date: 12 Feb 01 - 05:30 PM She is very welcome and I truely hope you can come down. Granted it is a long trip by car. But Honeys brother lives up there in the summer and comes down regularly. We have had a couple of 'catters from Maine and they seemed to feel it was well worth the trip. If you start early on Saturday morning and leave Monday, you'll have time to recoup between drives (if you can stop playing music long enough ;-). We have fun. You can bring fishing gear if you like. We live right on (about 10 feet from) a very large river. If you need directions, let me know. Everyone is welcome! Love, annamill |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: SINSULL Date: 12 Feb 01 - 08:33 PM Or come as far as NYC on Friday, spend the night at my place and we'll go on in the morning. As long as you are not allergic to cats. The offer is open to anyone coming from north of NYC. Floor space for all. Mary |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: Max Date: 12 Feb 01 - 08:51 PM As much as I love annamill's gatherings and 17 year old girls, I am affraid that I cannot make it this time. Everyone have fun, and take pictures. |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: Naemanson Date: 13 Feb 01 - 07:50 AM I talked with my daughter and I'm afraid we cannot make the trip. I'm sorry but I will definitely try for next time. I hope you all have a great time. Eat, drink, and make wonderful music together! |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: annamill Date: 13 Feb 01 - 09:10 AM Max, you will be sorely missed. Naemanson, maybe next time. There will be a lot more. My new home is perfect for warm weather fun and outdoor gatherings. Plenty of room for music. Love, annamill |

Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: GUEST,JAB Date: 13 Feb 01 - 10:40 AM Anna: Boy, do I wish I could come! I really enjoyed meeting you and Glen at the Getaway. The sharing of music was stupendous there, but I'm sure that it will only be a shadow of what is to come over the weekend. Hopefully, I can make the next one. Can I bring my gutbucket when I do? JAB |

Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: annamill Date: 14 Feb 01 - 09:19 AM Only three more days until the gathering. We received a Sorcha Dorcha CD from inOBU yesterday. We will play it this weekend, when the music stops for a moment, like during breakfast or dinner. I am sooo excited. I need my good music fix. Between my Honey's r'n'r and my son's Rage Against.., I am in need of the gentle music and some home spun blues. See you there. Love, annamill |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: InOBU Date: 14 Feb 01 - 10:58 AM Great the CD arived... I wish I could follow it over! Have a great time, Larry |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: annamill Date: 15 Feb 01 - 01:43 PM Two more days! Honey already has the grill ready and has just gone out to get a 1/4 cord of wood. Soon... Everyone's invited! Love, annamill |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: annamill Date: 15 Feb 01 - 01:46 PM InOBU, we listened to your CD last night and I had a very strange reaction. After I had danced around the room for the first three songs, I took off my clothes. (I was warm) ;-) Honey says thanks. I hope everyone doesn't have that reaction when I play it at the gathering. Well.. it could get interesting. Maybe we'll send THAT photo out to Alison ;-) Seriously, the CD was exciting and fun to listen to. Love, annamill |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: SINSULL Date: 15 Feb 01 - 01:58 PM Enough! Annamill! I was gracious enough to allow for flowers and candy for Valentine's Day. Nude dancing with the hubby is just rubbing it in our faces! Is that going to be part of the weekend's festivities? Want to make sure my undies are acceptable... |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: InOBU Date: 15 Feb 01 - 07:25 PM I've recheck my schdual, and the whole band will be there in our dancing clothes! Only kidding, wish we could, but we are going to be churning out our magic in the studio at last. Have a great time, don't catch cold! Larry |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: annamill Date: 16 Feb 01 - 11:45 AM ONE MORE DAY! How exciting! I went shopping last night and bought a lot of goodies. Shrimp, of course. What would annamill's gathering be without the staple, shrimp cocktail ;-) I'm planning on making a sauted chicken with mushrooms and scallions in a gentle tomato/basil sauce over fettucine(SP) for Sat. night dinner. For Sunday, we will have grilled burgers and small steaks. We have lots of eggs, bacon, juices, pancakes, fruit, and COFFEE for breakfast. I bought a turkey breast and a ham which I will bake Saturday morning for munching all day Sat. and Sun. I have bought the black vile stuff (guiness), and some of my favorite, Luenglings Lager, white wine, red wine. Some tequila for our other staple, Margaritas!! Lots of sodas. All this and music too! How can ANYONE stay away?? Everyone is welcome. If you wake up tomorrow and wonder what you're gonna do today, come on over. I have no access to my e-mail this weekend (my puter crashed) so just come. 737 Little Silver Road, Little Silver, NJ 732-450-8969. Hell, we're in the book anyway. So what's the diff. We'll party til Monday morning. Whooooeeeee! Love, annamill |

Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: Clifton53 Date: 20 Feb 01 - 09:15 AM A grand 'ol time was had by all, thanks to Annamill and Glen providing a veritable paradise of a home right on the river. Good lord what a place! The views are incredible. Dick and Susan of D.T., Burt, Sinsull, and my wife and I were treated like royalty by our gracious hosts, and we played a ton of music, even dare I say, venturing out of the folk realm here and there.
Wonderful people, great food and drink (ooh my head), and song after song being played and sung by talented 'catters. Nothing better on earth folks, but then, we know that already right? Clifton53

Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: SINSULL Date: 20 Feb 01 - 10:45 AM Annamill lives in Paradise. But she wouldn't let me sleep out on the dock for fear I would freeze to death! I got to meet Bert and Dick Greenhaus and Susan of the DT and Clifton who is Dan with lovely wife Luanne and of course Honey and Max the dog who thinks she is something else. Meeting Dick was something like finding the Holy Grail. Is there a song written between 1710 and 1910 that either he or Susan do not know all the lyrics to and all the variations of? Plus his wonderful guitar...and a banjo. Can't resist a man who plays a banjo! Clifton (Dan) plays masterfully and (although he may not admit it) probably knows the chords to every Beatle's, Stones' and Animals' tune ever recorded. Mostly he stuck to blues - don't miss him next time around. The man is very talented. We were plotting to switch his priceless Gibson for a broken Aria, just to see his reaction but decided we might be risking permanent heart damage. And Bert. May as well admit it - I love Bert. He sings and plays and makes coffee while padding around barefoot. Bert has beautiful feet. Even Max couldn't resist them - kept licking and nibbling. Have I embarrassed you to death, Bert? He treated us to "Streets of London" and "The Cuckoo's Nest" along with some bit about seven old ladies locked in the loo. Plus he fed us Saturday night on Swedish Meatballs with onions and rice - a feast. The man is completely housebroken and domesticated. I envy Tree. Annamill is a gracious hostess. Glen is nothing short of a "character". Both are sweet, generous, warm people who can't do enough to ensure their guests' comfort. There was enough food and drink for Attila's army and captives! Thank you both for a lovely weekend. Don't be surprised to find me camped out on your dock some night. The birds, the ocean, the stars, the quiet - really Paradise. |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: Clifton53 Date: 20 Feb 01 - 11:31 AM Good gravy Sins, that would have set me back a bit indeed. My wife was a bit nervous about me leaving it there but I said the worst that could happen is someone will play it.
By the way, your kindness and humor are exceeded only by your love of old Johnny Cash songs! |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: SINSULL Date: 20 Feb 01 - 11:55 AM Honest. We didn't even touch it. I don't believe I have ever seen a Mudcatter so much as pick up another's instrument without asking permission first. (Spaw will have a field day with that!). Playing it would have been unthinkable although I suspect Bert might have liked to give it a try. |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: Clifton53 Date: 20 Feb 01 - 12:10 PM Right you are Sins, I should have known better. I wouldn't touch an instrument either without permission, although Bert's birdseye maple guitar is a beauty ain't it? |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: Bert Date: 20 Feb 01 - 12:22 PM Yeah! I bought that using "Peter's Placebo" - You know - "An ounce of image is worth apound of performance". We certainly had a great time there - good company - good food and good drink. Sins brought some great pastries and chocolate covered strawberries but we didn't get around to them 'till after she had left. They were GOOOOD. MaryMac was so late that she didn't get there. |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: annamill Date: 20 Feb 01 - 12:37 PM What a wonderful time Honey and I had. Glenn really felt included as we went around singing and playing. Bert brought a wonderful meatball strogonoff that Tree had made with brisket. Hmmm... I now have at least 4 definites on the Roaming Mudcat Band in our area. That's another "I can't wait for..." for me. SINSULL's right about Clifton53. He is very talented. WE have to get him to the Getaway. Dick and Susan, as usual, were absolutely wonderful!! SINSULL has a sweet, melodic voise that is a pleasure to listen to. Clifton53's wife, Luanne, was good company and lots of help. After everyone had left and Honey had gone to bed, Bert and I sat up and Bert taught me some chords to get me started on the guitar. I'm actually practicing! It is really fun, but again, my fingers hurt. That's ok. I was soo inspired to learn this weekend. Oh, and BTW, it was my Maxie THE DOG that was licking and nibbling at Berts feet ;-) (Just wanted to make that clear) Now I cannot wait til the next one. I have enough food left, for sure! The beer is all gone though ;-) Thank you all for being there. I love you all. Love, annamill |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: SINSULL Date: 20 Feb 01 - 01:01 PM A - You're no fun. I was waiting for Bert and Max to explain themselves! Beer is all gone? Bet you have enough wine to supply an army. |
Subject: RE: Annamill's gathering 02/17-02/19 From: annamill Date: 20 Feb 01 - 01:24 PM I give the wine a couple of days. I put a nice bite into it yesterday. Bert mentioned SINSULL's pastries. We didn't take them out till after she had left. Saturday we all had ice cream with butterscotch/chocolate syrup and whip cream after Bert's wonderful concoction for dinner. Sunday we had steak and THEN we had the pastries. Unfortunately, SINSULL had already left. What a weekend and I'm tired here at work. Love, Annamill |
