The Orillia date is April 29. Unfortuneately it conflicts with the regular Last Sunday of the Month Coffeehouse. The people that are bringing them here tried to change it but couldn't get the space on a different date. I won't get to see them as I'm the MC at the Coffeehouse and I'm looking forward to hearing Alfie (a neat blues/folksy guy from Hamilton) again.

I strongly recommend you see them. I remember meeting Hilaary at the TRonto Folk Alliance a couple or so years ago. Speaking to Hilary I recalled hearing her sing at Reading U., UK 25 years earlier (I asked if she sang "I'm Satisfied (and tickled to)" - she fell off her chair and admitted it). Saw them both at Goderich a year later. Simon and I overlapped in Hall of residence apparantly.

Great, Mooh, I hadn't heard about the concert, now I'll find out where it is and get my tickets early. They are a marvelous duo and I look forward to hearing them again.

Simon learned from Hugh(go) Dalton, a master mandolinist here in the UK . He's no longer around but can anyone remember him? I saw him on "Tonight" in the 60's. Hiliary sings like an angel. Dr John

For the interest of those within reach of Ontario, there are Simon Mayor and Hilary James duo concerts in Orillia on 27 April, and in Goderich on 29 April, 2001.

The notice I rec'd did not include locations, sorry.

Simon is one of the few masters of the mandolin and one amazing guitarist. Hilary is a wonderful interpreter of trad songs and a writer herself. She also plays bass and guitar. Together they are witty and talented in the extreme. They have several recordings (trad, blues, original, and classical) which can be found at www.AcousticRecords.co.uk

Simon has been probably my biggest musical influence in the last ten years and I can't recommend this enough. Some of you may have seen them at the Goderich Celtic Festival in the past.

Mooh.
