Goes like this;

I've looked at Dr Demento's site but it doesn't say who actually wrote the song. Ulli, where did you get your lyrics from, and can you be sure about 'Ogden Edsl'? Sounds a bit phony to me ...

We have not yet made a deaddog category, but we do have @deadbaby and @deadcat for your enjoyment. There are a number of dead dog songs, but no so labelled - Old Blue, Dead Dog Scrumpy, I'm Looking Over My Dead Dog Rover...

Can't remember exactly where I got the lyrics from (perhaps from the internet somewhere), but I got the song on a CD (Dr. Demento 20th Anniversary collection; disc one) In the booklet it says "DEAD PUPPIES" was born in 1977, child of OGDEN EDSL WAHALIA BLUES ENSEMBLE MONDO BIZARRO BAND, which used to peform in every Midwestern city where its name would fit on the marquee. Lead singer Bill Frenzer wrote the song with bandmate Richie Thieman, with pipe organ by fellow Edslite William Carey."

sorry, I just remember where I got the lyrics from. There's a web site, called DEMENTED LYRICS, where you find the song under both artists and titles; I can't remember how to do the blue clicky thing; you find it under http://php.indiana.edu/~jbmorris/lyrics.html
