Hi, I have just visited the "singaround" on Paltalk for the 3rd time - and this time I plucked up the courage to sing......it was really weird, but everybody there was very nice - and there were lots of great singers there. I have visited Mudcat over the past year regularly, but only recently became a member and only last week went on PalTalk - If you haven't tried it, do so, it's like bringing the pub home with you! Oh for those of you who were there I am Bendigo - Hawker had already been taken as a name! Lucy.(Yes I am not a man!)

There was a 19th century boxer in the Nottingham area called Bendigo. He's got a pub somewhere around the Sneinton area named after him. Used to have a statue of him for the sign. Any Nott'm Mudcatters? Is it still there?

And as for Mesach and Shadrach - two of the best and most "generous" barmen I ever came across. Worked in the social club on the mine we were at in S. Africa. They definitely didn't help the bar profits!

Yeah he spells his name a bit different! -Abed-nego.. but like the reference to the horn, flute, zither, triangle, dulcimer music and singing - of every kind! very apt! But Shadrack is Mandy Dingle's dad! Lucy
