It's name is: "Roloff Neubrandenburg" The two sites that i found, were both in german(ugly american, i don't speak anything other than my mother tongue) Anyone out there know about these? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, all |

Subject: RE: Help: vintage piano pedigree From: pict Date: 22 Feb 01 - 11:48 PM There's a book called "The Piano Atlas" which can probably help a bit but the problem with finding out about old German pianos is that there were so many makers of pianos in Germany at one point there was around 400 makers in Berlin alone |
Subject: RE: Help: vintage piano pedigree From: Gypsy Date: 22 Feb 01 - 11:49 PM Criminy! Guess i had better learn German, after all. Or hunt up a German speaking friend. |

Our library answered a question just like this a little while ago. If your library is very small, ask at a bigger library sometime when you're traveling to another town. |
Subject: RE: Help: vintage piano pedigree From: Sorcha Date: 26 Feb 01 - 01:04 PM Sites in English: Click and click Lots of clickies in the second site. Pretty funky looking pianos, if you ask me....... |
Subject: RE: Help: vintage piano pedigree From: catspaw49 Date: 26 Feb 01 - 01:24 PM I dunno' where you found it Sorcha, but WOW!!! Maybe they are a little on the funk side, but they are incredible pieces of craftsmanship! I am envious Gyp!!! Spaw |
Subject: RE: Help: vintage piano pedigree From: Sorcha Date: 26 Feb 01 - 01:41 PM ooops. Looks like both sites are actually the same....different pages on the same site. Oh well. I am really curious to know if Gypsy's looks like this. If you'll notice, only one of them is actually a Neubrandenburg. They are beautiful, huh? |
Subject: RE: Help: vintage piano pedigree From: catspaw49 Date: 26 Feb 01 - 01:52 PM I noticed that, but the first link covers the RN piano and its pretty good info. Spaw |
