Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Somewhere over the Rainbow From: Calach Date: 26 Feb 01 - 08:05 AM Eva cassidy plays her version in straight tuning, no capo, and begins in G. Full tab can be found on tabseek.com |
Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Somewhere over the Rainbow From: Tiger Date: 25 Feb 01 - 02:42 PM A G+ (G Augmented) can be played by adding an Eb (forth string) to a standard G chord. However, that chord takes a lot of work and I think it sounds nicer and it's a lot easier to just play the top four strings (1-G 2-open 3-open 4-Eb), especially when coming out of Dm7. |

Subject: Lyr/Chords Add: OVER THE RAINBOW (Harburg/Arlen) From: Tiger Date: 23 Feb 01 - 08:00 AM Hi, Frugz....... I don't know about Eva Clifford's, but here's my version. Nice chords, the highlight being that G+ at the end of the bridge, which really finishes off the song. I learned that one from an old Ukelele Ike songbook.
Over The Rainbow - "The Wizard of Oz"
When all the world is a hopeless jumble,
[C]Some-[Am]where [Em]over the [C7]rainbow, [F]'way up [C]high, [C7]
And [Dm7]wake up where the [G7]clouds are far be-[C]hind me, [Dm7] [G7] Where [C]troubles melt like lemon drops, [Cdim]Away above the chimney tops, That's [G7]where [Cdim]you'll [Dm7]find [G+]me.
[C]Some-[Am]where, [Em]over the [C7]rainbow, [F]bluebirds [C]fly, [C7]
[F]Beyond the rainbow.... [Dm7]Why, oh, [G]why, [G7]can't [C]I?
