Subject: Fare You Well Baby Blues From: Flatroubadour Date: 23 Feb 01 - 12:21 PM Been looking for these lyrics for some time. Most recent recording (that I'm aware of) is J. Sebastian, "Chasin' Gus' Ghost". Song was written by Joe Callicott, supposedly also sung by Son House, although I haven't been able to find any recordings of it by him. Would sure appreciate any help anyone can offer. Thanks. |

Subject: Lyr Add: FARE YOU WELL BABY BLUES (Joe Callicut) From: Jim Dixon Date: 24 Oct 09 - 07:38 PM You can hear this song at YouTube. FARE YOU WELL BABY BLUES Joe Callicut You told me in the fall you didn't have no man at all. Fare you well, baby, fare you well. You told me in the fall you didn't have no man at all. Fare you well, baby, fare you well. Oh, you told me to my face, you'd have a good man in my place. Fare you well, baby, fare you well. Oh, you told me to my face, you'd have a good man in my place. Fare you well, woman, fare you well. Oh, you told me, go lie down, woman, put on your nightgown. Fare you well, baby, fare you well. Let's go, baby, and lie down. Put on your nightgown. Last chance shakin', baby, too. What is you gonna do when your trouble get like mine? Fare you well, baby, fare you well. What you gonna, gonna do when your trouble, baby, get like mine? Take my spade and pick on a dig down in your mine. Oh, fare you well, fare you well, baby, honey, fare you well. Fare you well, baby, fare you well. Fare you well, fare you well, baby, fare you well. Last day I get to keep on here with you. |
