HOW CAN I LEAVE YOU AGAIN
John Denver

Di-di-di-di-di-la-la-la-la-la-la
In a spaceship over the mountains,
Chasing rainbows in the setting sun,
Leaving heart and home for the city of angels,
I feel my life is undone.

There are pathways winding below me.
In pleasure I've gone where they go.
In the quiet stillness, I can hear symphonies,
The loveliest music I know.

CHORUS: How can I leave you again?
I must be clear out of my mind.
Lost in a storm, I've gone blind.
Oh, how can I leave you again?

Oh, it's been a long time since I've listened,
Still longer since I've walked with you.
For the first time, I know what I'm missing.
Some answers are no longer true.

So I question the course that I follow.
I'm doubtful and deep in despair.
My heart is filled with impossible notions.
Can it be you no longer care?

Still I ride on the wings of a high wind,
Blowing steady and strong behind me.
As the clouds surrender, my fate is for certain.
I'm a sailor who runs to the sea.

CHORUS TWICE.

Thanks so, so much! I had no idea anyone was really looking for it for me! You have been a real help. I don't know if it's really a "Girl Scout Song" or not, that's just where I heard it. One of our counselors played the guitar and knew it. Thank you very much. :)

Well, Miranda, I e-mailed my sister twice on this, since she claims to be the foremost expert on Girl Scout songs. She says she doesn't know it, and if she doesn't know it, it isn't a Girl Scout song.
Then I started to hear the voice of Olivia Newton-John, singing this song. That lead didn't work either. But I still think she may have recorded it.
Then, finally, I checked the International Lyrics Server, http://www.lyrics.ch/. They now have a fulltest search feature, and I entered the phrase, "How Can I Leave You Again." Turns out that's the name of the song. I shoulda known. It's on John Denver's Greatest Hits, Volume 3.
Now we know. No, it's not a Girl Scout song. Click the magic URL and you'll find the lyrics.

Subject: Lyrics for "Spaceship"(?)
From: Miranda
Date: 21 Oct 97 - 11:47 PM

Ok, I'll try this one more time.. I'm looking for the lyrics, or even just the artist and real title, of a song I remember that we always just called "Spaceship" at Girl Scout camp. All I can remember of the song is, "In a spaceship, over the mountain, chasing rainbows and setting stars, I [can't remember]for the city of angels, I feel my life is undone.." and then the chorus, "How can I leave you again? I must be clear out of my mind, lost in a storm, I've gone blind! Oh how can I leave you again?". Can someone please help me with this song? It's driving me crazy! Thanks. :)
