Mind block strikes again...or maybe it's a senior moment...I have been trying to pin down the actual title to the song that contains the lyrics...'Let me be a little meeker to my fellow who is weaker, think a little more of others and a little less of me' etc. While you're on a roll, do you know the author as well?? Have checked the Trad with different lyrics but nothing has come up. Thanks

I think it's Let Me Be a Little Kinder...? Dunno the author, I've only heard it as a duet by (are you ready?) Glenn Campbell and whatsername who did Ode to Billy Joe...

And they did a good job, too.

Yes, that's it! I only had it on a homemade tape give to me, and it was labeled the other name. But I remember now the giver told me he'd written the title incorrectly on several, and that was one he mentioned. What is whatername's name, anyhow?

Is it indeed "Less of Me"? My first thought was "Try a Little Kindness" but then I thought, no that's Otis, but, no, that's "Try a Little Tenderness" (arrangement filched by Three Dog Night). Hmm. It was Bobbie Gentry, though, from an album that also featured an Everly Bros. tune, "Let It Be Me", I think.
