Hi, I am looking for a song with words somewhat like :

"when first i met i was in my prime... ... oro my johny won't you come home soon? winter is acoming and i am all alone candles are burning in my window low and the wild geese are rolling(?) home..."

It is a folk song from British Isles. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks M

Subject: Lyr Add: OH, RO MY JOHNNY (from Oisin)

Hi M.,

Here's the version as sung by Oisin. I'm quite confident I got it right with the possible exception of the second line.

OH, RO MY JOHNNY

1. When first I met him I was in my prime
with lips like velvet tasted ruby wine
now he's left me in the morning cold
and Johnny he goes roving with another.

Ch.: Oh, ro my Johnny won't you come home soon,
winter it is coming and I'm all alone,
candles are burning in my window, love,
and the wild geese are rolling home.

2. A young maid's love is something to behold,
when first you meet her she's as pure as gold,
then you leave her in the morning cold
when the wild geese are rolling home.

Wolfgang
