Subject: RE: Help: highway 61 revisited girl From: Wolfgang Date: 28 Feb 01 - 11:13 AM No, Sally Grossman is on the cover of Bringing It All Back Home. Wolfgang |

Subject: RE: Help: highway 61 revisited girl From: Little Hawk Date: 28 Feb 01 - 12:28 PM Correct, Wolfgang. It's Sally Grossman on Bringing It All Back Home, and it's Suze Rotolo on the cover of The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan. Suze was Bob's girlfriend for some time in the early phase of his recording career in New York...sort of through the 1st 3 albums I believe. She seems to have been a very nice, bright, and talented girl. She and Bob were very close in the earlier part of the relationship, and later ran into various difficulties. All of this is fairly well covered in the better Dylan biographies. In more recent years Suze has spoken rather well of Bob. - LH |

Subject: RE: Help: highway 61 revisited girl From: GUEST,Matt_R Date: 28 Feb 01 - 12:38 PM LH, was she the one that "Suze (The Cough Song)" was written for? |
|
Subject: RE: Help: highway 61 revisited girl From: Little Hawk Date: 28 Feb 01 - 01:01 PM Yes, Matt, I believe so. Bob also referred to her as "the true fortune teller of my heart", and he wrote a lot of songs about her or connected with her. One of the best of them is "Boots of Spanish Leather". Another is "Don't Think Twice It's All Right". - LH |

Subject: RE: Help: highway 61 revisited girl From: catspaw49 Date: 28 Feb 01 - 01:33 PM The stories surrounding Dylan and Suze Rotolo are many and some are true, some not. Like many other things, it gets hard to separate the myth from the truth. One thing though.......WOLFGANG--I have NEVER thought of Dylan as BOD Dylan.....'cause he just ain't got one!LOL Soaw |
