Happy Birthday to gnu, Happy Birthday to gnu...

I don't know what your musical tastes are gnu, but there is such a spread of stuff on the Mandolirium CD, all incredibly well done, I'm sure something will tickle your fancy. The lads were intrigued that there seemed to be so much intrest in it and I'm sure Max appreciates the funding. I'll send it to wdyat12 unless instructed otherwise and he can pass it on to you.

gnu,

Oh, my, that's even better! (Wish Congress would do the same, now and then!) Gee, now we'll all want to be good friends with him...

Sarah2... you misunderstood. He spent his own money. A gift, for both me and for Mudcat. Three cheers.

Congrats, gnu.

I checked the postings; wdyat12 really went after it for ya. It was hot and heavy bidding, too! Auction Wars, indeed.

Nice job, wdyat12 -- now you know how Congress feels, spending other folks' money.

Sarah

Thanks gnu,

I did bid on several items as your proxy. Thought you could use the sleep. Maybe Max could set the closing in a different time zone next time so more people around the globe could have a fairer chance at squeezing in that last bid without staying up all night. Let the bidding resume on the other items I bid on. This auction is far from over yet.

Thanks for the laughs. It's one of the best parts of Cattin'.

Speaking of birthdays, I wonder if any of you have traditions which are offbeat ? As I mentioned last night, I use to do the bash thing on the eve, rather than the on the day. I still celebrate the day in another fashion. I treat my mother as if it was HER day. Today, I intend to not only take her to the mall and drop her off for later pickup - in the winter, when the streets are messy, she doesn't feel safe driving, so I chauffer - but, actually ENTER THE MALL and spend some time SHOPPING with her...shudder with dread ... I can't stand the mall. Then it's out to supper at a restaurant...shudder again. Anyway, it's only twice a year, and it makes the old girl happy. After all, she's been looking after me for 44 and 3/4 years, so it's only right that I look after her in return.

Got any offbeat celebrations, traditions ?

gnu

Well, I knew joining the Mudcat was the right thing to do. I received an e from wdyat12 this morning which confirmed my intuition regarding the type of people you Catters are - friendly, helpful and kind.

wdyat12 won the auction last night, having said it was a proxy bid for me and, as a birthday ( today ) present for me, he would forward it as soon as he received it. A wonderful gesture of friendship and kindness.

I want to publically thank him for his generosity. A gentleman INDEED !!!

gratefulgnu
