Subject: Lyr Add: WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD (from L Armstrong) From: flattop Date: 09 Mar 01 - 12:34 AM WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD I see trees of green, red roses too I see them bloom for me and you And I think to myself what a wonderful world. I see skies of blue and clouds of white The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night And I think to myself what a wonderful world. The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky Are also on the faces of people going by I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do They're really saying I love you. I hear babies crying, I watch them grow They'll learn much more than I'll never know And I think to myself what a wonderful world Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: What A Wonderful World It Is From: Allan C. Date: 09 Mar 01 - 12:50 AM Louis Armstrong first heard this song over the telephone. He loved it the instant he heard it and told his manager to set up a recording session. But he stipulated that he wanted the studio artists to be absolutely ready when the time came for him to record the vocal. He said that he was only going to go through it once. And so what we hear was recorded in a single take. At least, this is the story as I remember it. |

Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: What a Wonderful World From: Murray MacLeod Date: 03 Jun 02 - 05:45 AM Bob, if you ever manage to obtain a copy of Tony McManus' first solo CD (imaginatively titled "Tony McManus") you will hear a phenomenal version of WAWW, which segues beautifully into two Scottish tunes before moving back into WAWW. Easier to listen to than describe, but a masterpiece of musical arangement.(He plays the tune in DADGAD, btw) Murray |
