Subject: Fantasy wanted!!! New bandname From: menzze Date: 09 Mar 01 - 07:01 AM Hello friends For about 15 years I had a band called OAKTREE: We played Irish & Scottish folk music, music from Bretagne and some of our own songs. The whole thing was pretty traditional. The band split 6 years ago and I took a nearly 6 years break. Half a year ago it was time to start again, which turned out to be more difficult than I'd imagined. I really live in the country and musicians don't grow here like in big cities. Anyway, I finally made it to get some nice guys together and we're rehearsing for three months now once a week. We're still doing Celtic folk music but left the mere traditional way and added drums, electric guitar, bass and keybord. What we're looking for now is a name for the band. I believe there must be enough fantasy between all you mudcatters for at least a thousand names. Give us your purposes, they're all welcome. Have a good time everybody love menzze

It's really unbelieveable what can happen on a mudcat thread. They must be all crazy here*gr* with a twisted sense of humor, just the way I like it. Hope this thing here will bring as much ideas and as much fun as the aussie thread last year. I make a promise to all you catters: If we 'll find our new name from here the one who'll have suggested it will be invited to the first concert of the band with it's new name. This might bring some problems if the one is from overseas and we're in the south of Germany here. But time will show..... unpatiently waiting, biting my fingernails down..... slainte menzze

But you might try one I'd thought of for Germans, "Blau Rauch en Speigelen" or "Blue Smoke and Mirrors" in bad german. If it's a really bad band, just go with "Blue Smoke" which in West Virginia means whats connects where you wuz to where you is. (Kinda like that old saying "Say it with Flares") |

Had a wonderful duck on vegetables. As I said , I never tried that Thai/Nam stuff before, but I'm shure I'll go there again. Amos, you've not already made it but I like your Pendragon Pipes. Menzze and the Boys was a fun suggestion a friend of mine made two weeks ago, but it sounds too ridiculuos for the rest of the band. hey Kat, you lead the list by nunmbers I think we should limit this thing to thursday 15th, 7.00pm coz we start rehearsing around 8.00pm. I copy out all the names then and we will decide for one of them before midnight.I'll let know all of you right afterwards. Something else I've not thought about before but which turns out to be a little candy: it will be also a kind of birthday present for me coz I become 41 on midnight.
