From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 09 Mar 01 - 08:26 AM I know there's been a thread on this song before: In a shady nook one moonlit night A leprechaun I spied... but the Supersearch isn't working or something's wrong with my computer! I want to teach this song in two hours to my first graders- can you help me? |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: leprechaun- quick!! From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 09 Mar 01 - 12:41 PM Alison that was WONDERFUL! A million thanks! After I posted I went right to work teaching the older kids, but I checked the 'cat again as the first graders were lined up outside the door; pressed "print" and away I went. It's not a song I expect them to be able to sing by heart, but they loved the story. I confess I changed "cruiskeen" to "bottle"! I then told them how I got the words to the song and where you are and they wanted to know: What time was it when you answered, and what's the weather like? |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: leprechaun- quick!! From: KT Date: 09 Mar 01 - 01:00 PM This is wonderful! Thank you! And just in time, too. There'll be many a leprechaun trap in first grade this next week. What is the tune?

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: leprechaun- quick!! From: Malcolm Douglas Date: 10 Mar 01 - 10:38 AM See also Lyrics to "The Leprechaun" and The fairy was laughing.... Alice Flynn has the music, and at one time put the staff notation on her website. I made a midi of the melody at the time, and will in due course (if I don't forget) send it to Alan for the Mudcat Midi Pages. Meanwhile, as a temporary measure, I have put it on the South Riding Folk Network website: Click here to play The Leprechaun Malcolm |
