This is way cool! It's a "sand pendulum" that sits on a table, and the seismic shocks cause it to make patterns. Earthquake Rose

I KNOW, Sorcha, isn't it kewl!? Art sent me a link the other day. Made me call my bro and tell him to hurry up and finish the rewrite of his "Earthquake Prevention Through MetaMusic©" book! This is exciting!

It's okay..not really BS in the lowdown sense:-) Credit goes to Art Thieme for me knowing. In his wry way, he quipped, "Now I know where Native Americans got the idea for sand painting!" **BG**

Sorcha,

This is way cooler than lava-lamps! Environmental interactive art, what a great new movement. I'm gonna hang a plumb bob from the tree outside my window and watch it make patterns in the snow as the wind gently sways the branch. I might even construct a sand pendulum too 'cause we're 100 years overdue for a major quake here in Maine.

Thanks for this one Sorcha.

I didn't spend the time to ascertain the price of one of these creative pendulums. I figure that, if I really wanted one, some sand, a small nail, a piece of string, a weight, etc, would be easily pieced together - then again, I wouldn't get the brochure, picture, distribution rights, etc., to show all my stoned friends. Too bad Avon didn't think this one up. They could sell a bunch in their next catalogue.... ding dong ! Do you hear bells ? voices ?
