Subject: RE: BS: Before I die, I wish.... From: wdyat12 Date: 11 Mar 01 - 01:24 PM Dear Melancholy, First you have to say "good night" to someone in your arms. Don't settle for just anyone. There should be definite mutual feelings between the both of you for a meaningful encounter, but if that's not what you are looking for I guess anyone will do. Get out and meet some new people or be good to the one you are with. NO BITCHIN' Good Luck! wdyat12 |

Subject: RE: BS: Before I die, I wish.... From: CarolC Date: 11 Mar 01 - 02:14 PM Wow, gnu, that's an interesting post. So many things, really. Starting with getting my beautiful Italian accordion back from the shop. Did I ever tell you how incredibly beautiful and sweet that accordion sounds? And it's smooth... like butter and velvet. Practically all you have to do is sit behind it and whisper "I love you" to it, over and over, and it just about plays itself. Then there are some other things... |

Subject: RE: BS: Before I die, I wish.... From: gnu Date: 11 Mar 01 - 02:34 PM JP.... your post seems to kinda sum it all up. Reminds me of what George Carlin said on his "Toledo Window Box" album... Subject: RE: BS: Before I die, I wish.... From: gnu Date: 11 Mar 01 - 03:28 PM CarolC.... or may I call you Carol ? I had a little Honer that I used to finger when I was a boy but I lost the urge when I grew up and left home. It wasn't til years later when I got my first Hran that I learned why a slow beat was the most difficult and the most rewarding. Alas, it has been years since I have laid my fingers on a squeezebox and I really don't know if I can make one sing in that sweet melody anymore. However, I have given myself completely to the Hran and I am not remorseful in any way. Indeed, tis through the Hran that I have developed my ability to extend my rythmic thoughts to the supple fingers which pluck music from the skin I brush so gently and, yet, with command.... Yeah, so what were you going to say ? distractedgnu |

To take Duckboots to some of those magnificent places I visited in the past, like Paris, madrid, Amsterdam, New Orleans, London, and so many more. I often went with partners, but no one I really loved. To have the kind of spiritual moment (that I'm afraid I don't believe in) where I can say "thanks and sorry for being so much trouble", to my late Mother and Father. Also to show them that I turned out fine. Rick |

Subject: RE: BS: Before I die, I wish.... From: SINSULL Date: 11 Mar 01 - 04:13 PM gnu - I have a cat who adores me. Subject: RE: BS: Before I die, I wish.... From: gnu Date: 11 Mar 01 - 04:41 PM Morticia...I know the feeling. Keep the faith. Let us know. Sins...you can't. Even cat "haters", and there are lots of them, ignorant as they may be ( my own brother is one ), have to have some common sense and that guy sounds like he had less than Homey. I have heard - only ever had female cats - that you can curb a tom's PUBLIC display of "affections" by use of a pillow or towel or bathmat placed in a private place for his "use". As far as how to train him to "affectionate" that particular item, I have no idea. Well....no, I have no idea. gnu

It's the elegant and subtle sense of irony, gnu. I'm a U.S. American, but I think I inherited the sense of humour from my grandfather who was from Saint John, New Brunswick.

Subject: RE: BS: Before I die, I wish.... From: Greyeyes Date: 11 Mar 01 - 05:04 PM My particular wish involves a long story to explain it. When I first moved to Plymouth 2 1/2 years ago I had to leave behind, with my parents, my beloved labrador, Millie. After I had been in Plymouth for a few days I phoned home to touch base & asked my Mum how my dog was. She said "your dog is sitting by the front door at 5.30 every evening with her head cocked to one side, waiting for you to come home." I nearly jumped straight in my car and drove home. Going to bed that night and going to work the next day was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. So my wish is that one day, before I die, I can live in circumstances that allow me to have a dog. It won't be soon, and it won't be Millie, who is now 11, but one day.... Incidentally after a few weeks she forgot all about me, but she still goes gratifyingly beserk when I go home, making pathetic wimpering noises when she sees me, which are quite out of character.

In any case, I had fun funning. I would continue, but I wouldn't like to see a gnu get throttled by a skipjack. It just wouldn't be fair. After all, a gnu is just a dumb animal, whilst a skipjack version K8 is obviously superior.
